Baseball Predictions
Just want to get these on the record so I can look back at how stupid I was….
AL West - Rangers
The Angels are the hip new team with Pujols and CJ Wilson but it’s the Rangers who have back to back pennants and who have also added Yu Darvish. My main worries are that Josh Hamilton won’t be very good this year and that Nelson Cruz has already been the best he will ever be (and I think they should trade him post haste). But the Rangers have too much pitching and I think they’ll get it done.
AL Central - Indians
I have yet to see a person not take the Tigers, but I am going to for a few reasons. 1, Justin Verlander won’t be as good as he was last year. 2, the rest of the staff isn’t close to as good. 3, the defense is going to be god awful and 4. I think there is a chance that the Indians will have the best player in the division this year (Carlos Santana). I get what the Indians are doing with Hannahan having the 3B job but the quicker they get Chisenhall up for good the better. If they turn him and Santana and Jason Kipnis loose, plus I think Justin Masterson is probably the 2nd best ace in the division, I think the Indians will take it.
AL East - Yankees
Let’s just move on
AL Wild Cards - Rays, Angels
I think the Angels and Rays might have the two best rotations in the league when it’s all said and done, that will get them into the playoffs regardless of relative run scoring problems they might have
AL MVP - Pujols
AL Cy Young - Mariano Rivera (quick explanation: I am going to bank on this being one of his last years or maybe his last year and he will get some sort of a lifetime achievement cy)
NL West - Diamondbacks
Everyone in this division sucks balls, but the DBacks have a stable of young arms that they can use to go out and get a veteran at the deadline, and they have Justin Upton who is the best player in the division.
NL Central - Brewers
I think Ryan Braun will come out with a vengeance and Zack Greinke is phenomenal. It should be close though, with the Reds and Cardinals both being just as good, and I think the Pirates could make some noise.
NL East - Phillies
I just flipped a four sided coin to decide between them, Braves, Marlins and Nats.
Wild Cards - Reds, Nats
Again, no idea
NL MVP - matt kemp
NL Cy - Zack Greinke
